1) Public Outreach, Analysis, and Housing Element Updates – Community input activities, data analysis and writing of the updated document. This includes a focus group meeting with low income residents in January, and two community meetings in February and August 2021. Online surveys will take place in February and August/September 2021.

2) Initial State Review – Initial analysis of first draft document by State Department of Housing & Community Development (HCD) in January 2022.

3) Public Comment & City Review – The City will hold public meetings in 2022 at both the Planning Commission (June 16th) and City Council (August 2nd) to consider the Housing Element draft. The dates for these meetings are to be determined. There will also be a 30-day Public Comment period on the Housing Element draft.

4) Final State Review & Certification – State HCD review of final HE draft approved by the City Council and certification of its compliance with Housing Element Law. This is estimated for sometime in the summer or fall of 2022.
